One of my NY resolutions was to loose weight and become a healthier version of me, so an action that I need to take is too workout more frequently.
My workout consists of cardio, strength and muscle training.
I do 20-60mins of cardio --> walking, jogging, running, skipping, ect..
Cardio is what burns the fat and sugars, so the longer that you can do, the more calories you burn therefore the faster you loose weight.
Then I do 10mins of strength --> 2kg weights for arms and 15kg weights for legs.
Strength training is important for toning your body. Without doing it, you will become skinny, but not toned and lets be real here, we all want to be toned.
After doing strength training, muscle and core training happens.
I do 10-20mins of muscle and core training --> sit ups, crunches, Russian twists, reverse crunches, bicycle crunches, plank, squats, leg pulses, ect...
This part of my workout is my favourite! I love doing core and muscle training as it is very satisfying when you are sore the next day. To me, this is more fuel to my fire, more motivation for me to achieve my goals.
Along with working out, healthy eating is equally, if not more important. Eating crappy, rubbish food is a) putting more calories in your body, b)not giving you proper nutrients, c)you gain heaps of weight over time. Healthy eating shouldn't be a chore, it should be fun! I love getting in the kitchen and making healthy, delicious foods! I'll make a separate post about some of my favourite recipes.
